DR. RAJVIR BHALWAR has joined as the Principal of our Medical College from 01st May,2017. He is a highly qualified Doctor, obtaining his MBBS from King George’s Medical College with Gold Medal in Preventive Medicine, the degrees of M.D. as well as prestigious Ph.D. in Preventive Medicine from Pune University, Post Doctoral training in Clinical Epidemiology under INCLEN Program, PG Diploma in Hospital Management from Delhi, PG Diploma in Medical Laws from National Law School, Bangalore and FAMS from National Academy.

Dr. Rajvir Bhalwar served in the Armed Forces for 37 years and retired from a very high rank of Air Vice Marshal (Major General). During his service he was decorated on four occasions by Govt of India for his exemplary services. He has been an expert member of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and National Disaster Management Authority(NDMA).

Dr. Bhalwar has been a very distinguished Medical Teacher. He has been Professor and Head of Community Medicine at the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune. He was awarded the “Best Medical Teacher Award” of Maharashtra University of Health Sciences in the year 2008. He is recognised teacher, as well as the examiner for degrees of MD and Ph.D for Pune University, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and Maharashtra University of Health Sciences. He has been MCI Inspector as well as MCI Syllabus expert for Community Medicine. He has 73 published research papers to his credit. He is also the Chief Editor and Lead author of textbooks of Community Medicine and Public Health published by WHO, Elsevier and Wolters Kluwer and has also authored chapters in API textbook of Medicine. Before joining us he worked as Director of Medical Services of the prestigious Apollo Hospitals in Hyderabad Zone.

Graduate of Calcutta National Medical College (1975). MD (Anaesthesiology) and Diploma in Anaesthesiology from Calcutta University. An enriched experience of 34 years of service with the Dept. of Health, Govt. of West Bengal, of which 23 years were as teacher, 12 years as Professor and Head of Department, Anaesthesiology in various Govt. Medical Colleges like RG Kar MCH, NRS MCH, Midnapore MCH, and Dr. BC Roy Post Graduate Institute of Paediatric Sciences. Pre-teaching career as specialist in various State Hospitals and remote Health Centres in the state of West Bengal.
