A full day CME was conducted by the Department of Pathology and Transfusion Medicine on 9th August 2019 under the leadership of Dr. Asitava Deb Roy on the topic ‘Transfusion Medicine in Clinics – Present Concepts and Future Trends’. The CME was the first of its kind at IQ City to be accredited by the West Bengal Medical Council as an independent departmental academic activity with 3.5 credit hours.
Speakers from Tata Medical Centre Kolkata, Medical College Kolkata and AMRI Hospitals Dhakuria spoke on various topics viz. Challenges in multi-transfused patients, management of adverse transfusion reactions and hemovigilance, scope of transfusion as a subject, evolution of TTI testing, rational use of blood and components etc. The CME was a huge success with more than 75 delegates participating in the academic feast.
